Eurofins to strengthen Food Testing Services in Northern England
Eurofins, the world leader in analytical support to the global food and feed markets, has expanded its UK operation with the acquisition of Newtec Laboratories Limited.
Based in Teeside, Newtec specialises in nutritional chemistry and microbiology and will complement the services offered by Eurofins' Feed and Food business located in state of the art laboratories at Wolverhampton and Acton, London.
Existing clients in the North of England will benefit from improved access to the full range of services available across the Eurofins network from several 'centres of excellence' for specialist testing in areas such as meat species, food authenticity and contaminants.
Strengthened transport links along with harmonised methods and procedures will cater for those with multisite operations but via a locally based laboratory, already recognised for quality and fast turnaround.
Eurofins Newtec will be managed by David Mitchell who has more than 20 years experience in the laboratory sector and joined Eurofins as its General Manager for the North earlier this year. The laboratory facility will benefit from a modernisation programme and implementation of 'lean' principles to ensure timely, high quality and cost effective services for its clients.
